Dementia
In the UK alone it is estimated that around 676,000 people are living with dementia, which mainly affects older people.
Dementia is caused by abnormal changes in the brain cells. The brain has many distinct regions, each responsible for different functions; when damaged the region cannot carry out its functions normally. Therefore, dementia can be different depending on the person. These abnormalities interfere with everyday living and affect memory loss, language, problem-solving, and other cognitive skills.
